SUPER LEMON by Alex Ng – A Mind-Bending Mentalism Opener
Experience the impossible with “Super Lemon,” the signature routine Alex Ng has perfected over nine years of performances. Based on an original concept from Florian Severin’s acclaimed book What Lies Inside (Vanishing Inc.), this visual mentalism piece delivers a jaw-dropping experience your audience will never forget.
How It Works
The magic begins when you casually ask a spectator to name any fruit. No matter what they say, you proceed with a captivating lemon demonstration. Using just a lemon and a knife (or so it seems), you guide the entire room through an interactive journey of imagination:
- At first, everyone clearly sees a lemon and a knife in your hands
- As the routine progresses, these objects visually transform before their eyes
- The shocking revelation? The items have become a fork and a yellow paper ball
The Breathtaking Finale
When you unfold the paper ball, your audience will discover the spectator’s original random fruit choice written inside. This impossible prediction creates a show-stopping moment that blends visual magic with psychological intrigue.
Perfect for: Openers, parlour shows, and any performance where you want to establish credibility while creating memorable astonishment.
Performance Notes: Requires no special gimmicks – just an ordinary lemon and the ability to lead your audience on an unforgettable magical journey.
Super Lemon is a signature routine that Alex Ng has been performing for over nine years. Based on an original concept from Florian Severin’s book (“What Lies Inside” published by Vanishing Inc.), Super Lemon creates a mind-bending experience for your audience.
You first casually ask your spectator to name a random fruit. Regardless of what they say, you proceed to take out a lemon and perform a lemon trick. With just a lemon and a knife, you invite everyone in the room to participate in a game of imagination.
Within the entire process, everyone is convinced and swears you are holding a lemon and a knife. But as the routine continues, it is revealed that the knife and the fruit have magically morphed into a fork and a yellow paper ball, causing the spectators to question what they just witnessed.
As the kicker-ending, you open the paper ball, and what’s written inside, is the SPECTATOR’S RANDOMLY-NAMED FRUIT. A shocking ending for a visual mentalism opener!
