Remote City by Daniel Young
Discover the captivating world of mentalism with Remote City, a groundbreaking PDF download by Daniel Young. This unique effect will leave your audience in awe as you demonstrate your extraordinary mental abilities.
Effect Overview
In this mesmerizing routine, a small book is presented, filled with pages listing various capital cities. The mentalist explains these are places he dreams of visiting. A participant is invited to randomly select a page and choose a city. Without any hints or clues, the mentalist accurately identifies the chosen city. The participant then thinks of a specific location within that city, and once again, the mentalist correctly deduces it. The climax comes when the participant envisions something associated with the chosen country, and the mentalist reveals an object that has been on display all along—matching the participant’s mental image perfectly.
Why You’ll Love It
- Practical and Engaging: This routine is perfect for parlour-sized audiences but can easily be adapted for close-up or stage performances.
- Dual Reality: While it employs dual reality, both the participant and the audience experience the magic, ensuring a memorable experience for everyone.
- Additional Ideas: Along with the main effect, you’ll receive a wealth of additional ideas and variations to expand your repertoire.
Originally created by Daniel Young and previously shared with only a select few, Remote City is now available to you. This 1st edition, 14-page PDF download is a must-have for any serious mentalist. Please note: This is a digital download, and the gimmick is not included.

A dramatic test in remote viewing.Â
Effect:Â A little book is shown to have different capital cities written on it’s pages. The mentalist explains that these are places that he would like to visit in the future. A participant is asked to randomly select a page, and choose one of the cities he sees. The mentalist, without any fishing of any kind, announces the correct city being thought of. The participant then thinks of a freely selected place within the city and this is, once again, correctly deduced by the mentalist. As a final climax, the participant thinks of something associated with his chosen country. The mentalist then uncovers something which has been on display all the time, the very same thing that the participant pictured in his mind.Â
This is an effect Daniel invented quite some time ago, however, it was only released to a select few. It won’t make you look like Derren Brown on TV, but it IS a practical routine, and it DOES get very good reactions. Not only do you get the main effect, but lots of other ideas using this same principle. Daniel will not give you a load of hype, he wants you to trust him and what he is saying. It does rely on some dual reality, so if that’s not your cup of tea, don’t buy this. However, having said that, unlike many dual reality effects, there’s still something magical happening for the participant. He/she will experience an effect as well, which is pretty much the same as what the audience sees. The effect in itself is well suited for a parlour sized audience, but can easily be performed close-up or on stage.Â
