This unique series serves as an indispensable reference for magicians of all skill levels, offering profound insights into the craft's cherished classic effects.
Mastering the Ace Assembly
The classic Ace Assembly, a captivating card trick often attributed to the French magician Conus, has enchanted audiences since its first publication in 1853. The premise is simple yet profound: four Aces are dealt face down, three indifferent cards are placed atop each, and then, inexplicably, the Aces vanish from their original positions to gather magically into a single packet. This timeless effect continues to inspire magicians worldwide, leading to countless ingenious variations that still mystify and entertain today.
Volume 2: Unrivaled Variations
In 'Ace Assembly Vol 2,' you'll journey through a spectacular collection of six distinct routines from five celebrated magicians, each offering a fresh and unique perspective on this iconic plot. Witness Bill Malone's 'Almost Like Trick Cards,' an assembly so impossibly clean it blurs the line between skill and illusion. Steve Draun's 'Bluff Aces' adds a visually stunning ending to Marlo's famous routine, while Trevor Lewis's 'One at a Time Aces' surprises audiences by switching the Aces' final destination at the last moment with an accessible, easy-to-learn method. John Guastaferro takes the assembly to a new level with 'Famous Aces,' where the Aces not only assemble but do so remarkably inside the card case. Martin Nash's '10,000 Ace Assembly' presents a jaw-dropping version where the Aces gather mysteriously under a spectator's own hand. Finally, Bill Malone returns with 'Unbelievable Aces,' a technically challenging yet visually breathtaking routine where the Aces make a sudden and visible appearance in the leader packet. As Hugard and Braue noted in 'Expert Card Technique,' immense thought has been poured into the Four Ace trick – and this download is testament to that enduring fascination, offering a rich tapestry of performances and techniques to learn from and master.

ACE ASSEMBLIES
The invention of the classic trick where the four Aces are deal face down, three indifferent cards are dealt onto each, yet the Aces mysteriously gather into one of the packets, is usually attributed to the French magician Conus. However, ever since its original publication in 1853, magicians are still coming up with amazing variations of this timeless effect and enchanting audiences with them to this day.
VOLUME 2
On this download, you'll meet five magicians who each have their own singular take on the Ace Assembly plot. First up is Bill Malone with an Ace assembly that is so clean that it does, indeed, almost look like trick cards are in use. Next, Steve Draun adds an amazingly visual ending to Marlo's Bluff assembly while Trevor Lewis switches the Aces' final destination at the last moment for a surprising finish to a fairly easy-to-do routine. John Guastaferro is next with a version where the Aces not only assemble but actually do so in the card case while Martin Nash's Aces do the same under a spectator's hand. Finally, Bill Malone returns with a technically-challenging but eye-popping routine where the Aces suddenly "and visibly" appear in the leader packet.
Hugard and Braue, in their classic book, Expert Card Technique, wrote, "Of all the tricks with playing cards, as much thought has been expended on the Four Ace trick as on any other-and the performers 'and performances' you'll watch and learn from on this download are ample evidence why."
