Description & Effect
Are you a magician fascinated by the deceptive art of card switches but hesitant to delve into moves traditionally associated with actual cheating? Many performers shy away from 'card-cheating switches' due to their perceived difficulty and ethical implications in a magical context. Justin Higham's 'Pseudo Card Cheating Switches and Related Moves' offers a refreshing and accessible alternative, opening up a world of compelling sleights designed for both pseudo-cheating demonstrations and legitimate magic routines.
Unlock the Secrets of Deception
This exceptional digital download demystifies the art of 'pseudo' card cheating, providing you with a collection of switches that prioritize coordination over arduous manual dexterity. You'll discover that executing these moves is far more attainable than traditional, complex cheating techniques. The beauty of these pseudo switches lies in their utility: perform astonishing card manipulations that look genuinely deceptive without ever exposing their true methodology. Imagine stunning your audience with seemingly impossible card transpositions and vanishes, all while maintaining the integrity of your performance. These versatile packet switches are not just for 'cheating' effects; many can be seamlessly integrated into your existing magical repertoire, adding layers of sophisticated misdirection and surprise.
Comprehensive Techniques and Applications
Within these pages, Justin Higham meticulously explains a wide array of techniques, ensuring you have a diverse toolkit at your disposal. You'll learn the fundamental 'Basic Move,' alongside specialized methods like the 'Empty-Hands' Method, Kevin Baker's 'No-Palm Method,' the 'Lateral-Palm Method,' and the ingenious 'Jennings-Concealment Method.' Further exploration includes 'Underhand Methods 1 & 2,' the 'Under-Deck Method,' the 'Modified Tent Switch,' the 'Pseudo-Deal Palm Switch,' and variations of the 'Pseudo-Removal Palm Switch' and 'Flip-and-Fan Palm Switch.' Benjamin Earl's 'Turn-and-Look Packet Switch 1 & 2' and its variation are also covered, culminating in 'End Notes' brimming with additional ideas and practical applications. Crucially, almost all moves are packet switches, not single-card, and while most involve a unique approach to palming, none require lapping, making them practical for various performing environments. This manuscript is your gateway to mastering advanced, yet achievable, card artistry.

Mention ‘card-cheating switches’ and magicians very often shy away due to (a) the fact that such switches are not really meant for performing, and (b) they are often quite difficult to execute. In particular, switches requiring one-handed pick-ups and throw-downs or complex palm changes and re-gripping, are avoided.
The switches in the present ms. are pseudo cheating switches, and the reader may be pleasantly surprised to find that (a) they are not that difficult (requiring more coordination than manual dexterity), and (b) they can be used in pseudo-cheating demonstrations to good effect without having to reveal their methodology. Several of the switches may also be used in a magical context.
Explained is the Basic Move, 'Empty-Hands' Method, No-Palm Method (Kevin Baker), Lateral-Palm Method, Jennings-Concealment Method, Underhand Method 1 and 2, Under-Deck Method, Modified Tent Switch, Pseudo-Deal Palm Switch, Pseudo-Removal Palm Switch and Variation, Flip-and-Fan Palm Switch, Turn-and-Look Packet Switch 1 and 2 (Benjamin Earl) and Variation, and End Notes with several more ideas and applications. All but one of the switches are packet switches, not single-card switches. Most require palming (but not always in the conventional sense) but none require lapping (as in scooping or dropping cards into the lap or similar).
