Originally published in 1935, this timeless ebook unlocks a realm of 'unique and miraculous card mysteries' designed to elevate your close-up magic repertoire. Discover the secrets behind deceptions hailed by contemporary critics as 'amazingly ingenious,' all centered around a clever yet overlooked magical principle.
The Ingenuity of Double-Face Cards
This exceptional guide delves deep into the ingenious use of double-face cards – playing cards printed with faces on both sides. Burling Hull meticulously explains why these versatile gaffs are far more effective and less susceptible to detection than double-back cards when introduced into a standard or even a borrowed deck. The subtle differences in card faces are inherently less noticeable than backs, especially since these effects often keep cards in motion or present only one card at a time, making close comparison virtually impossible for your audience. The ebook also includes a valuable section on 'How To Make Double Face Cards' to ensure you're always ready to perform.
A Repertoire of Astonishment Awaits
From 'A New Card Monte' that will have spectators questioning their own eyes, to the mysterious 'Spirit Message' and the mind-bending 'Chinese Mind Reading,' this ebook offers a diverse array of 18 effects. Whether you're making spots disappear with 'Remove Spots' or performing a 'Royal Romance,' each trick is a testament to Burling Hull's innovative approach to card magic. Designed for both seasoned magicians and enthusiastic beginners, 'Double Magic with Cards' provides clear, concise instructions to help you master these powerful illusions and leave a lasting impression. Elevate your card magic today with these classic, yet revolutionary, secrets.

This book includes some amazing deceptions with DOUBLE FACE CARDS (cards with faces printed on both sides) which may be introduced into almost any standard pack (and frequently a borrowed one) much more readily than could double back cards—for there is far less difference in the FACES of playing cards which are more or less standard in design than in the BACKS of such cards. The sleight differences are not readily noticed, particularly by one who is not looking for it because the cards in most of these effects are kept IN MOTION while doing the trick. Also in the majority of the feats, only the one card is seen at a given time (as in the reversed experiments) and thus close comparison is impossible.
