ABRAVIAGRA: THE CORK TRICK (SOL STONE)
Discover the magic of Sol Stone with Abraviagra: The Cork Trick, a masterpiece of self-working magic that has astonished audiences and baffled even the most seasoned magicians. This ingenious trick utilizes simple, examinable props—absolutely no magnets or threads involved—to create an unforgettable magical experience.
How It Works
Present a borrowed cork and cup to your audience. After laying the cork on its side and covering it with the cup, the magic begins. With a simple wave of the hand—performed either by you or a spectator—the cork mysteriously stands upright on its edge. This incredible feat can be immediately repeated, and everything can be handed out for examination or kept as a unique souvenir.
Why Choose The Cork Trick?
- Easy to Perform: Perfect for magicians of all skill levels, requiring no special skills or gimmicks.
- Highly Perplexing: Even knowledgeable magicians have been left wondering how it’s done.
- Impromptu Magic: Carry it anywhere and perform it anytime with common items like a cork and a cup.

ABRAVIAGRA: THE CORK TRICK (SOL STONE)
Sol Stone is known for his beautiful and advanced coin magic. This is one of the few self-working tricks he came up with and one that he used to fool many of the most knowledgeable magicians in the world. Most suspected that he was using magnets and threads. But this quick routine only uses the examinable and non-gimmicked props that are seen.
The basic effect is simple: You show a cork and a cup, that can both be examined or borrowed. The cork is laid on its side and covered by the cup. You wave your hand over the cup but nothing happens. You again cover the cork with the cup but this time you let the spectator wave her hand over the cup. Amazingly when the cup is lifted the cork is now standing upright… on its edge. Everything can now be handed for examination or given as a souvenir. Can be immediately repeated.
This originally appeared as the bonus routine on the DVD that accompanied Sol Stone’s Radical Dice Routine. A Meir Yedid Magic Product. Produced by Meir Yedid. Original release date: 2007. Running time: Approximately 5 minutes.
I think this is one of the best impromptu magic effects ever invented. I really do. I use it all the time. …Johnny Thompson
This is one of my favorite tricks for young and old and I’ve been doing it for many years. Super easy and drives people crazy! Total worker. …Will Fern
