The Effect
The magician begins by showing a standard deck of cards, shuffling them thoroughly, and spreading them face down. A prediction card is set aside or handed to a spectator. The magician then asks the audience to imagine that the cards are shuffled, yet each four of a kind remains grouped together—like the four aces or the four queens.
The spectator is invited to choose any number between 10 and 40. The magician counts to the chosen number, openly and fairly, and removes the selected card along with the three adjacent cards, forming an imaginary four of a kind. The rest of the deck is set aside, still in full view.
As the trick progresses, the spectator selects one of the four cards, and the remaining three are placed aside. The magician then reveals the chosen card—let’s say it’s the Ace of Hearts—and the prediction card is shown to be an exact match. But the magic doesn’t stop there. Effect: The magician shows a deck of cards, shuffles them and spreads them face down. One prediction card is placed aside or given to a spectator to hold.
“Let’s IMAGINE, the cards are all shuffled, but each four of a kind are amongst each other, so here are the four aces for example, here the four queens, etc.! Can you imagine that?” the magician asks.
The spectator can imagine it and now he is asked to select a card, but to make it really fair, he is asked to call a NUMBER between (lets say) 10 and 40. ANY NUMBER is chosen and the magician openly, slowly and FAIRLY counts to the chosen number and removes the selected card as well as the 3 cards beside it as being an imaginary four of a kind!
The rest of the cards are placed aside but in full view. The magician asks if the spectator can imagine if those 4 selected cards are the Aces for example. The spectator can. He now selects one of these 4 and the remaining 3 cards are placed aside next to the deck.
Time for the big finish: one card is chosen at RANDOM. The card is turned over and an Ace of Hearts is shown! The prediction card is turned over to be a 100% match, the Ace of Hearts!

But… you now say, you have imagined that these were the four aces and as you say this, you turn over the 3 removed cards. They are BLANK, as they are removed from your mind, an imagination doesn’t last long…
